All In Vain

All in Vain

Written by John C. David

Verse

Kept walking pretty and straight

Hitched a ride all over town

Board a bus to the watery site

Set sail on a sunny afternoon

Bridge

Sure hope to reach you before

The night sky wipes out the

Shine on the ground

Leaving silent trail behind

Climbing over rocks and valleys

Soaring high into space

Over mountains and through the clouds

To get you nearer to me

Chorus

Crossed the ocean all in vain

When she waived her final goodbye

Felt my heart rip in pain

Refrain

#Ears glued now to the radio

Fixed my eyes on the TV shows

Dread the thought of being all alone

Before the ringing of the telephone

Threw my money at the racecourse

Longed for my little pink rose#

Bridge

Sure hope to reach you before

The night sky wipes out the

Shine on the ground

Leaving silent trail behind

Climbing over rocks and valleys

Soaring high into space

Over mountains and through the clouds

To get you nearer to me

Chorus

Crossed the ocean all in vain

When she waived her final goodbye

Felt my heart rip in pain

Refrain

#Ears glued now to the radio

Fixed my eyes on the TV shows

Dread the thought of being all alone

Before the ringing of the telephone

Threw my money at the racecourse

Longed for my little pink rose#
